DIBRUGARH: Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly Biswajit Daimary visited Dibrugarh on Wednesday to inspect the proposed site for the new Assembly building and MLA quarters at Khanikar. During his visit, the Speaker also held discussions with concerned departments regarding the planning of the proposed 800-seat auditorium and circuit house.
Accompanying the Speaker during the inspection were Duliajan MLA Teras Gowala, Dibrugarh District Commissioner Bikram Kairi, Superintendent of Police VV Rakesh Reddy, Additional District Commissioner Dr Monika Bora, Circle Officer of Dibrugarh West Revenue Circle Dev Narayan Hazarika, Assistant Commissioner Juri Doley, CEO of the Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council Tankeswar Sonowal, and CEO of the Matak Autonomous Council David Chetia.
Officials from the Public Works (Roads and Buildings) Department, Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), Public Health Engineering Department, and the District Veterinary Department were also present during the visit.
