Assam: Bongkual HS Felicitated 22 Meritorious Students for HSLC Exams

Bongkual High School held a ceremony honoring 22 meritorious HSLC students of 2024-25 for their distinction in exams.

Bokakhat: A felicitation and an award ceremony was held on Saturday at Bongkual High School, one of the leading government educational institutions in Golaghat district, to honour 22 meritorious students who successfully passed the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations of 2024 and 2025 with distinction. The event was presided over by Mahendra Loinge, president of the Bongkual High School Management and Development Committee, while the school’s headmaster, Jibon Chandra Dekai, explained the purpose of the gathering.

In the 2025 HSLC examination, Biswaranjan Morang from Bartika village, son of Seema Morang, secured the highest marks among the school’s students. He was awarded two academic memorial prizes: the Bapaising Bori and Numali Bori Memorial Award, and the Parashuram Gowala Memorial Award.

The Bapaising Bori and Numali Bori Memorial Academic Award—donated in memory of his parents by retired teacher Horen Bori—includes a traditional Assamese outfit, a certificate of appreciation, and a cash prize of Rs. 3,000. The Parashuram Gowala Memorial Award—donated by subject teacher Ratul Gowala in memory of his father—includes books, a pen, a certificate of appreciation, and a cash prize of Rs. 2,000. Speeches were delivered by award sponsors retired teacher Horen Bori and subject teacher Ratul Gowala. Paragjyoti Hazarika, Principal of Mohuramukh Higher Secondary School, addressed the students with words of encouragement as the invited guest.

Awardee Biswaranjan Morang also shared his thoughts and experiences. Headmaster Jibon Chandra Dekai delivered the welcome address and expressed his gratitude. The event was anchored and coordinated by Assamese subject teacher Samir Bhushan Borah. Students from classes 6 and 9 performed group songs separately during the event.
