GUWAHATI : A revelation was made by the police on 26th of December, Monday about an gruesome incident that took place in Southwest Delhi. A boy from Assam's Tinsukia district allegedly murdered his roommate after getting into a heated argument.
The accused has reportedly been identified as Binay Lama. As per the police, he was drunk when the episode occurred. After a series of investigations, Binay Lama was apprehended by the police from Hawai Pather, Lekhapani in Assam's Tinsukia district.
The arrest was done based on the post mortem report. The reports declared the cause of death as Asphyxia- a situation where the body is deprived of oxygen, leading to suffocation or death. A murder case was registered after this revelation against Binay Lama at the Kishangar police station.
Going back to 12th of December, 2022, a person identified as Resham Kumar, aged 22 years, was admitted in the Safdarjung Hospital. However, he was declared as brought dead by the medical authorities. Scraping bruises and marks were spotted in the face and neck during the enquiry.
The process began from the point when an FIR was filed, suspecting the death to be a case of murder. Manoj C, the Deputy Commissioner of Southwest Delhi, stated that, Binay Lama was staying with Resham Kumar since 3-4 days. Initially, the accused travelled to Delhi on 6th of December, in search of employment.
An altercation developed between the two, and under the influence of alcohol, Lama killed Kumar in the apartment. The accused had fled to Assam as soon as the incident took place, stated the police. This comes at a time when the people are yet to get over the horrific Shraddha murder case.
The list of murders and crimes are only increasing each passing day, not just in Delhi but in several states of India.
