Assam: BTC Chief Pramod Boro unveils statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Kajalgaon

A statue of Mahatma Gandhi, a tribute to the values of peace and unity, was officially unveiled by BTC Chief Pramod Boro in front of the Kajalgaon Parade Ground today.

KOKRAJHAR: A statue of Mahatma Gandhi, a tribute to the values of peace and unity, was officially unveiled by BTC Chief Pramod Boro in front of the Kajalgaon Parade Ground today. The statue, part of a larger beautification project, marks a significant step in enhancing the district’s central campus and its surroundings.

The installation of the statue was part of a comprehensive effort to improve the aesthetics and infrastructure of the area. Recognizing the need for a permanent structure, the Urban Development Department, in collaboration with the District Administration, spearheaded the project to create a lasting monument that would serve as a beacon of Gandhian values.

The ceremony was attended by several distinguished figures, including EM Ranjit Basumatary, EM Saikhong Basumatary, EM Wilson Hasda, MLA Sidli Nirmal Brahma, MCLA Sajjal Kumar Singha, DC Chirang Jatin Bora, CHD Urban Development Lankeshwar  Owarie and all Departmental heads. Their presence highlighted the significance of the event and the collective effort behind the project.
