KOKRAJHAR: In a swift action to investigate the alleged book procurement anomalies in Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), the Government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) formed a high-level committee to investigate reports of anomalies in the book procurement process. It is to be mentioned that an allegation of misappropriation of Rs 4 crore on the book procurement came to light in the Department of Education of BTC in the past few days.
The Government of BTR formed the high-level committee to investigate the issues and accordingly initiated the measures. In a notification issued by the Principal Secretary of BTC, it was notified that the committee was formed with Sabda Ram Rabha as Chairperson, who is the Standing Counsel of BTC at the Gauhati High Court, Guwahati. The committee members included Dhiraj Saud, Secretary of BTC as Member Secretary, Sujit Baglari, Secretary, Bidhan Das, Registrar of Bodoland University, and Saroj Kr Dora, AFS, BTC as members. The committee began its initial inquiry on Tuesday and will submit its report within 15 days.
Pramod Boro, Chief Executive Member of Bodoland Territorial Council stated that the Government of BTC has so far initiated stern steps against reports of book procuring anomalies in the Department of Education. He said that the recently formed high-level committee is taking necessary steps while investigating the irregularities reported in the media. He said that no involved person would be spared if found guilty in the alleged irregularities.
