Assam :BTC to introduce DMIT in schools, yoga and insurance to students

BTR Govt to launch DMIT tests, ₹5L student insurance, and yoga in schools and colleges across BTC as part of major education reforms.

KOKRAJHAR : In a significant initiative of the Government of BTR, the education department is set to introduce Dermatoglyphic Multi-Intelligence Test (DMIT) in schools and colleges across BTC, Rs 5 lakh insurance to students, and yoga in schools.

In a press meet held at Bodoland Guest House here, BTC EM of Education Wilson Hasda said that the education department had taken some new initiatives that included DMIT, a scientific diagnostic analyzer to find out student’s calibre or their interest, student’s insurance policy, and yoga. He said that an advisory committee had been formed for the implementation of DMIT with Dr RN Singha, Principal of Kokrajhar Science College as President. The committee comprised five principals of different colleges. He said that the advisory committee will conduct the DMIT, and educational, and motivational programmes for the students of class V to XII. He said that Rs 5 lakhs insurance for degree and master degree students under ‘Dahal’ programme would be started soon for the welfare of the students. The inborn quality of the students would be diagnosed by DMIT and merits and demerits of the students would be analysed and necessary measures taken in consultation with their parents, he said, adding that the multiple talents of the students would also be diagnosed through this system as students should get admission in their subject of interest to achieve their goal. Hasda also said that the students will get analyzed on their interested stream through this test. He further said through DMIT, the students, guardians and teachers will be able to make the right choices for career.     

Director of Education, BTC Jagadish Prasad Brahma said that the education department of BTC at the directives of CEM Pramod Boro decided to start the DMIT in the provincialized and private schools across BTC to analyze the merit and demerit of the students. He also said that yoga would be made compulsory in schools to ensure good health of the students and an orientation programme in this regard would be conducted soon.

Advisor of the Advisory Committee, DMIT and Principal of Kokrajhar Science College Dr RN Singha said that the generic factors would be found out through DMIT and students who were addicted to drugs and other alcoholic substances would also be analyzed. He also said the DNIT will start on June 28 in Udalguri, July 4 in Kokrajhar, and subsequently in Chirang, Baksa and Tamulpur. He also said that the team would visit the schools for DMIT very soon.
