Assam CM Launches 'Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan' in Dibrugarh

The initiative, which is being carried out nationwide, focuses on promoting awareness and ensuring the inclusive implementation of welfare schemes meant for tribal communities.

DIBRUGARH: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the district-level awareness programme under the “Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan” campaign at the Sri Sri Auniati Sakha Satra Auditorium in Dibrugarh on June 16. The initiative, which is being carried out nationwide, focuses on promoting awareness and ensuring the inclusive implementation of welfare schemes meant for tribal communities.

The District Administration of Dibrugarh and the Department of Tribal Affairs (Plain) jointly organised the programme. It aims to achieve benefit saturation for tribal populations by strengthening the delivery of government schemes and enhancing public participation.

The services provided under the campaign will include issuing Aadhaar cards, ration cards, Ayushman Bharat cards (PM-JAY), caste and residence certificates, Kisan Credit Cards (KCC), PM-Kisan benefits, Jan Dhan accounts, insurance coverage (PMJJBY/PMSBY), and social security benefits such as old age, widow, and disability pensions.

Several key dignitaries were present at the event, including Minister of Tribal Affairs (Plain) and Education Ranoj Pegu, Minister of Power and Medical Education Prasanta Phukan, and Minister Jogen Mohan, along with local MLAs.

The two-week-long campaign starting from June 15 to June 30 will be supervised by Principal Secretary Mukesh Chandra Sahu, IAS, and Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Bikram Kairi, IAS. The launch event witnessed enthusiastic participation from government officials, beneficiaries, and the general public, reflecting a strong commitment towards empowering tribal communities in Assam.
