GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a Video Conference with DCs to review key welfare initiatives—Orunodoi 3.0, Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan, and CMAAA.
Chief Minister Sarma emphasized efficiency and inclusivity, urging officials to ensure seamless and timely implementation, leaving no beneficiary behind. The discussion also focused on strengthening interdepartmental coordination for better execution.
With the aim of bringing an additional 20 lakh beneficiaries under a poverty alleviation scheme, Orunodoi, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a meeting to review the guidelines ahead of the launch of Orunodoi 3.0 last year in September.
The meeting was held under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Under the Orunadoi scheme, women, being the primary caretakers of the family, are kept as beneficiaries of this scheme by the state government.
In a significant development, the expanded version, Orunodoi 3.0, aims to transfer Rs 1,250 into the bank accounts of 37 lakh women, marking an increase of 20 lakh beneficiaries with an increase in the amount from Rs 1000 to Rs 1250.
As per the guidelines, Orunodoi 3.0 seeks to ensure that politically connected households remain outside its ambit, with an effective grievance redressal mechanism in place. The guidelines also aimed at bringing robust measures to identify "needy" and "marginalized" beneficiaries.
