SEOUL: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with important people to discuss working together in areas like Renewable Energy, Semiconductors, Small & Medium Businesses, and Startups.
Dr. Sarma talked about how important South Korea is in the semiconductor industry and how their knowledge could help Assam build a strong semiconductor system.
He mentioned that there is a huge opportunity for growth in this area in Assam and that global companies can set up their businesses there, with support from both the Assam and Indian government.
In separate meetings with Dr. Joon Choi, Vice President of SK Hynix, and Lee Young Joo, CEO of Seoul Viosys, two leading semiconductor firms, CM Sarma underscored the strong policy support from the Government of Assam for the semiconductor industry.
He also talked about plans to create a special township and semiconductor cluster to help grow the industry in Assam. Dr. Sarma invited both companies to join the Advantage Assam 2.0 event, which will be held in Guwahati on February 25-26.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held an in-depth discussion with Mr. Young Ha Ru, Vice President of GS Group, a leading South Korean company in renewable and clean energy.
The meeting focused on Assam's goal to produce 3,000 MW of clean energy by 2030. Both leaders talked about working together and stressed the importance of building partnerships and training workers to support Assam's growing renewable energy industry.
