Assam CM To Confer 'Assam Baibhav' Award To Ratan Naval Tata Today In Mumbai

On the occasion of Asom Divas or Assam Day, the state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had announced to confer the most prestigious 'Assam Baibhav' award to the industrialist Ratan Tata.

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanat Biswa Sarma is all set to visit Mumbai on Wednesday to present 'Assam Baibhav' award to the former chairman of Tata Sons Ratan Naval Tata.

According to reports, Sarma will also visit the residence of Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away recently, to pay his homage.

"The Chief Minister will visit the residence of late Lata Mangeshkar and will pay homage to the 'Queen of Melody' on behalf of the people of Assam," said the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) on Wednesday morning.

On the occasion of Asom Divas or Assam Day, the state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had announced to confer the most prestigious 'Assam Baibhav' award to the industrialist Ratan Tata.

He made this announcement in Delhi.

Taking to micro-blogging site, the Sarm had said, ''Delighted to announce that the Government of Assam has decided to confer its highest civilian award, Assam Baibhav, to @RNTata2000 Chairman, @tatatrusts for his exceptional contribution towards furthering cancer care in Assam.''

Assam Baibhav award is the biggest award of the state.

Ratan Tata is the chairman of the Tata group and the respected industrialist in the world. He served as the chairman of Tata groups from 1990-2012.
