Assam: Dibrugarh AMRUT project inspected; focus on strengthening city’s water supply

Assam Cabinet Minister Kaushik Rai on Friday inspected the ongoing AMRUT water supply project in Dibrugarh along with Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation Mayor Dr Saikat Patra, Commissioner Shivani Jerngal, AMRUT Mission Director Sampriti Goswami, and officials from the concerned departments.

DIBRUGARH: Assam Cabinet Minister Kaushik Rai on Friday inspected the ongoing AMRUT water supply project in Dibrugarh along with Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation Mayor Dr Saikat Patra, Commissioner Shivani Jerngal, AMRUT Mission Director Sampriti Goswami, and officials from the concerned departments.

During the visit, the team reviewed the floating intake pumping station constructed on a barge over the Brahmaputra river near the Bogibeel area. The facility is a key component of the AMRUT project aimed at ensuring a sustainable and uninterrupted supply of potable water to the residents of Dibrugarh.

Officials briefed the minister on the progress of the project and its operational aspects. The inspection focused on assessing the readiness of the infrastructure and reviewing the quality of work being carried out under the scheme.
