DIBRUGARH: The Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation (DMC) cancelled a parking regulation order for Jhalukpara Road within hours of issuing it on April 5. The original directive aimed to ease traffic congestion in Ward No. 16 by introducing an alternate-side parking rule.
The order (No. DMC/EST/OFFICEORDER/01/2025/113) instructed vehicle and shop owners on Jhalukpara Road to park on one side of the road from the 1st to the 15th of every month and on the opposite side from the 16th to the month’s end. The directive was issued by the mayor and was meant to take immediate effect.
However, later the same day, the DMC released a cancellation notice (No. DMC/EST/OFFICEORDER/01/2025/117), officially revoking the earlier order. The mayor signed the cancellation notice.
The notice was circulated to the executive officer of DMC, the traffic in charge of Dibrugarh Sadar Thana, and other concerned departments. For now, parking on Jhalukpara Road will continue as before, with no changes until a new directive is announced.
