Assam: Dibrugarh Polling Officials Head to Centres Ahead of May 2 Election

With the first phase of the Panchayat election scheduled for May 2, polling officials across Dibrugarh district departed for their assigned polling stations.

DIBRUGARH: With the first phase of the Panchayat election scheduled for May 2, polling officials across Dibrugarh district departed for their assigned polling stations.

Early on Thursday morning, presiding officers, polling and security personnel were seen leaving the distribution centre set up at Dibrugarh Polytechnic in Lahowal with ballot boxes, essential documents, and other election materials.

Similar arrangements for distribution and dispatch have been made in other co-districts of Dibrugarh, including Duliajan, Tingkhong, Khowang, and Naharkatia, ensuring that all preparations for the smooth conduct of the election are in place.

“A total of 1165 polling stations have been set up in Dibrugarh district for smooth and fair elections. The district has 871,975 voters for the Panchayat polls,” said an official.
