KOKRAJHAR: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kokrajhar in collaboration with the Kokrajhar district administration, Kokrajhar Government College and an NGO “Let’s Smile Together” organized a District-level Yuva Utsav on Tuesday. The theme of the District-level Yuva Utsav India @2047 was “Panch Pran”.
A total of seven events, Science Mela Group and Individual, young artiste contest, young writers contest, cultural dance, mobile photography contest, and declamation contest were organized in the Yuva Utsav.
The district level programme is a part of the National Youth Festival. The programme was attended by Kokrajhar DC Masanda Magdalin Pertin, BTC EM of Youth Affairs & Sports department Daobaisa Boro, Himanshu Kumar, District Youth Officer of Nehru Yuva Kendra Kokrajhar, Dr. Dimacha D. Mwchahary, Principal Kokrajhar Government College, Monsur Hussain, CRCC, Joypur and Barub Hussain, Faruque Abdullah, Let’s Smile Together.
The entire event was moderated by Dr. Banashree Bharadwaj, Assistant Professor of Department of Philosophy, Kokrajhar Government College.
In the inaugural speech, the District Youth Officer of Nehru Yuva Kendra gave a brief introduction about the District Level Yuva Utsav Programme and encouraged students to give their best performance in the events.
Masanda Magdalin Pertin, District Commissioner of Kokrajhar highlighted the importance of youth in the development of a nation, and she also thanked Nehru Yuva Kendra for their efforts in providing youth platform to showcase their talent. The principal of Kokrajhar Government College briefly explained the importance of youth in developing a country’s economy and encouraged youths to take part in such events where they can showcase their hidden talent.
Daobaisa Boro, Executive Member of BTC delivered lecture on the importance of Physical Education in human life and how it can be improvised in BTR with different essential infrastructure plans along with Physical Education Courses.
Participants from all over the district participated in the event. The Science Project, “Removal of Lead from Water Chemically” won the first prize in the Science Mela group event led by team leader Bhanismita Swargiary, Kokrajhar Government College, Kokrajhar. Ashim Ranjan Karjee, Kokrajhar Government College won the 1st prize in Science Mela under Individual Category.
