SILCHAR: In the backdrop of tension following India’s strike against Pakistan, sensation brewed up at the Bangladesh border too as a drone was recovered in an abandoned state in the Charbazar area near Sribhumi town. The recovery occurred hours after the Indian Army carried out strikes on terrorist camps across the Line of Control in Pakistan.
According to police sources, the drone was found lying unattended at the premise of the residence of one Ajay Kuri. However the object was promptly seized by police and was taken to the Sribhumi Police Station for further examination. SP Partha Protim Das hinted that the drone might have been used by someone on the other side of the border. Police have not ruled out the possibility of someone using the device to monitor the strategic location of the bordering district. They have launched an investigation into the matter which triggered much tension in Sribhumi which shares both land and riverine border with Bangladesh.
