Assam: Drug dealer arrested in Bengenati

The Nagaon Police conducted a raid in Bengenati and seized 20,000 Nitrazepam tablets and a large quantity of cough syrup bottles.

NAGAON: The Nagaon Morikolong Outpost Police conducted a raid in Bengenati on Monday night and seized 20,000 Nitrazepam tablets and a large quantity of cough syrup bottles. One drug trafficker identified as Mainun Haque (38 years), was arrested during the operation.

According to reports, Mainun Haque, also known as Bhai, had been involving school and college students, as well as young men and women, in drug trafficking in the Bengenati area.

This arrest came after a young man died due to drug overdose in Bengenati a few days ago, highlighting the growing concern of drug abuse in the area. The police are likely to investigate further to uncover the entire network of drug trafficking in the region.
