Assam: Educational Award Presented at Namtemera in Bokakhat

BOKAKHAT: Suren Bori, a retired head teacher and a resident of Namtemera village under Dusutimukh Gaon Panchayat in Rongamati Mouza of the Bokakhat Legislative Assembly constituency, has been presenting an educational award in memory of his mother, Binita Bori, to the student who secures the highest marks in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination from the village.

This year, Mintu Bori, the son of Gopinath Bori and Dipali Bori of the village, has been selected for the award. On Sunday, the Binita Bori Memorial Educational Award was presented to Mintu at the residence of Gopinath Bori. The award included a certificate of appreciation, a trophy, a bundle of books, and a cash prize. The event was organized by the Namtemera Yuva Manch and was hosted by Ivan Loinge.

At the event, speeches were delivered by retired head teacher Someswar Loing, teacher Koliya Loing, and socially conscious individuals Kamal Bori and Kamal Loing. Award donor Suren Bori highlighted the purpose behind instituting the educational award in his mother’s name.

Award recipient Mintu shared his feelings and expressed his aspiration to become a military officer in the future. The event concluded with words of commendation from Someswar Loing.
