Assam: Eminent Photographer Ashim Kundu Dies At 61

NAGAON: On Thursday, the death of Ashim Kundu, a well-known photographer from Nagaon saddened the entire state. Kundu passed away in his home which is in Jyotingarh, Nagaon District.

The eminent photographer was under Long-term medication which was being provided for his excessive blood pressure. He was 61 years old at the time of his death.

Notably, Kundu was a member of the Nagaon Press Club and served as president of the Nagaon Photographer's Association. He also had a job at the well-known monthly publication 'Bismoy'.

Additionally, he was well-known for his extensive work at the news channel "Nagaon Talks."

His passing has cast a shadow of doom over his family, friends, and well-wishers alike.

In the heart of Nagaon town, the senior photojournalist of Nagaon Talks had a studio called 'Real Photo Image'. And the demise of the talented photographer has sent shockwaves across Nagaon.

Health Minister Keshav Mahanta, Public Relations Minister Pijush Hazarika, and Nagaon Sadar constituency MLA Rupak Sharma have expressed grief over the death of the photographer.

Nagaon Press Club President Yadav Saikia and General Secretary Ajit Saikia along with Nagaon Electronic and Digital Media Association President Tapan Kumar Bora and Secretary Nilotpal Bora also condoled the death of the artist.

Ashim Kundu taught many people how photography plays such a vital role in the field of journalism that it has the ability to portray a story and hold memories that last forever.

Kundu, with his work, made it very clear that photography has the power to enhance the emotional component of a news story and is significant as images have the power to emotionally connect with viewers and elicit a response from them that may motivate them to respond to any calls to action the news story may have included.
