GOLAGHAT: The Golaghat District Committee of the All Assam Scheduled Caste Students’ Union (AASCU) organized a solemn and grand felicitation programme today to honor meritorious students who excelled in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations.
The event was presided over by Pranab Pratima Das, president of the District Committee, and was formally inaugurated by Paramananda Das, former president of the All Assam Scheduled Caste Students’ Union. The programme commenced with a flag-hoisting ceremony and a tribute to departed souls, setting a respectful and reflective tone for the day.
The event witnessed the presence of several notable dignitaries, including renowned journalist and nature enthusiast Apurba Ballav Goswami, senior journalist and literary figure Diganta Kumar Bhuyan, Dr Jayanta Das, professor at JDSC College, Bokakhat, District Project Officer Lachit Bora, social worker Purna Rajkhowa, and former District Committee president Dhruvajyoti Bharali.
Adding to the prestige of the occasion were special guests such as Ranjan Kumar Baruah, an agricultural officer; Dr Vishal Das, professor at Kaziranga University; Kshirod Kumar Das, Central Assistant Secretary of the All Assam Scheduled Caste Students’ Union; and Bijumoni Saikia, poet and educator. Representatives from various student organizations also participated in the ceremony.
The felicitation programme was marked by enthusiastic participation from students, dignitaries, and well-wishers. It concluded on a high note, with heartfelt congratulations extended to the students for their academic achievements and encouragement for their future endeavours.
