DEMOW: The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti (CMSS), Nari Mukti Sangram Samiti (NMSS) and in association with the flood- affected people of Bokota area protested in front of the Demow Revenue Circle Office on Friday demanding compensation to the flood-affected people who were badly affected by flood last year. According to information received, due to the flood the houses and agricultural fields of the people of Bokota, Pachim Bokota were badly affected last year. The protesters shouted slogans against the BJP government. The protesters alleged that the people who were not affected by the flood got the compensation and the real flood- affected people did not get the compensation till date from the government. They demanded that real flood affected people should get the compensation. A flood-affected woman from Jabalating Gaon said that her home was severely damaged by a flood last year. The Gaon Pradhan took pictures of her five times, but her name has not yet shown on the list, and her home is currently in horrible shape.
Later they submitted a memorandum to the Demow Circle Officer. In the protest programme leaders of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti (CMSS), Nari Mukti Sangram Samiti (NMSS), and people from the villages Bokota, Jabalating, Phekelani, Borpial Habi, Deoriting Grant, and Halagani were present.
