SIVASAGAR: The NSS Unit of Gargaon College marked World AIDS Day with a special talk aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and promoting preventive measures. The event witnessed active participation from NSS volunteers and college staff.

The programme featured Yoga Specialist Meghali Borah, Assistant Professor, Jorhat Law College as the resource person. In her speech, she delved into the main theme of World AIDS Day, highlighting the importance of awareness, education, and collective action to combat the disease.

Dr Rimjim Borah, NSS Programme Officer, moderated the event and emphasized the significance of the day in fostering a stigma-free society and advocating for support to those living with HIV/AIDS.

Notable educationist and columist Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta, Principal of the Gargaon College appreciated the initiative taken by the NSS Unit, commending their efforts to educate and inspire students. He expressed gratitude to the organizers for their dedication to meaningful social causes.

The programme concluded with active participation and interaction from the NSS volunteers, reflecting the commitment of Gargaon College to social welfare and awareness campaigns.
