GUWAHATI: Gauhati University has once again reaffirmed its status as a trusted academic institution in the region by successfully conducting the B.Ed Common Entrance Test (GUBEDCET-2025) on Sunday, July 20. An impressive 96.58% of the total registered candidates appeared for the examination, underscoring the enduring faith students place in the university.
This year, 15,282 candidates registered for the B.Ed entrance exam, out of which 14,760 appeared. The exam was conducted seamlessly across 18 centres in 16 cities of Assam, including a large cohort of 3,332 candidates at the Gauhati University centre alone.
Professor Nani Gopal Mahanta, Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University, remarked, “The overwhelming participation in GUBEDCET-2025 is an affirmation of the growing trust and aspiration students associate with Gauhati University. Our mission has always been to inspire, enable, and empower students, and this response encourages us to keep raising the bar.”
Gauhati University, which recently earned global recognition in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025 and NAAC A+ accreditation, has consistently taken steps to expand educational access and deepen academic impact across the Northeast.

This accomplishment follows closely on the heels of the university’s successful conduct of its postgraduate entrance examinations held earlier this month, where over 42,000 applications were received for about 4,500 seats.
