Assam Government Hosts Event to Empower Girls and Promote Gender Equality In Lakhimpur

The Assam Government hosted the "Empowering Girls for a Bright Future" event to promote gender equality and discuss ways to improve opportunities for girls in Assam.

LAKHIMPUR: In an important move to support gender equality and empower young girls, the Assam Government’s Women and Child Development Department, along with the Lakhimpur District Project Management Unit of Sankalp: Hub for Empowerment of Women, Sakhi, and North Lakhimpur University, organized a special event called "Empowering Girls for a Bright Future."

The event was held at the North Lakhimpur University auditorium and attended by BJP MLA Manab Deka. He talked about how important these programs are for improving society. He also said that the program supports the goals of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is working to provide equal opportunities and help women and girls grow.

Speaking at the event, MLA Manab Deka expressed his optimism that such initiatives would not only raise awareness about the challenges faced by girls but also help shift societal perspectives toward gender equality and empowerment. He highlighted that the Assam government’s commitment to women’s welfare and development is reflected in various policies and programs designed to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for young girls to thrive.

The event was attended by government officials, social workers, teachers, and students, who gathered to talk about ways to improve education, social, and economic chances for girls in Assam. The government hopes that these programs will help build confidence, offer better opportunities, and create a brighter future for the next generation of women leaders.
