Assam: Holi celebrated in Demow

Holi, the festival of colours was celebrated in Demow and its surrounding areas on Friday and Saturday.

DEMOW: Holi, the festival of colours was celebrated in Demow and its surrounding areas on Friday and Saturday. On Thursday on the day of Purnima, people offered abir to God. People played with abir and the children were seen playing with water guns in Demow on Friday. Though it was still raining heavily, people played Holi here in Demow on Friday. The street merchants who brought Holi items like water pistols and Abir, along with many other colours, were sitting at their stalls looking for customers on Friday due to the terrible weather and heavy rain. The Doul Utsav was organized in Sri Krishna Garakhiya Mandir near the historic Dhaimao Pukhuri in Kokilamari, Tengapani near Demow on Friday and Saturday. The people came from various places and offered prayers in Sri Krishna Garakhiya Mandir.
