A guiding star who still shines

Since the day my grandmother left us, a part of my world feels quieter — but not emptier. Because though she is gone, her presence still echoes in every corner of our home, and more deeply, in every corner of my heart.

My bond with her was not just that of a grandchild and grandmother. It was a friendship, a mentorship, and a silent promise — one that whispered strength, patience, and an unshakable belief in the power of moving forward.

She was the very soul of our household — a woman of astonishing mental strength, whose calmness in storms inspired us all. Her laughter often rang through the walls, soft and reassuring like a lullaby from nature itself. But her strength was never loud — it was graceful. Like the blooming flowers she lovingly tended in every space of the house, her spirit brightened everything around her.

She had a green thumb and a golden heart. The house was always alive — a miniature paradise filled with blooming flowers and lush vegetables that she grew herself. From bright marigolds to the freshness of coriander and tomatoes, her garden was not just a space of beauty but of purpose. It fed our bodies, and her spirit fed our souls.

But she wasn’t only a farmer of the land — she was a craftsman of warmth. With her hands, she created bamboo stools, delicate hand fans, and so much more — each item a quiet masterpiece, infused with care and love. Her creativity was unmatched, and her energy seemed boundless.

More than anything, she was a beacon of motivation. “Never look back,” she would say, “because the sun always rises in front of you, not behind.” In her words, in her work, and in her every action, she taught us to walk forward — no matter how many storms we had to pass through. Her resilience was her legacy, and she never let us forget that the path to victory is not easy, but it’s always worth walking.

She gave love without conditions and care without end. Her arms were always open, her food always warm, her voice always kind. And now, even in her absence, she leaves behind an undying light — a message for us and for every generation to come: Shine. Keep shining. Be strong, be kind, and never stop growing.

My grandmother wasn’t just a part of our family — she was the soul of it. And though she has gone beyond this world, her light continues to guide us. In flowers, in food, in handmade fans, and in every small act of love and courage, she still lives.

She left us not with emptiness, but with hopes, dreams, and the strength to rise. She left us with the gift of her life — a life that still teaches us how to live fully, and how to shine like a star.
