LUMDING: An inter-high school football tournament has been organised ahead of the Durga Puja festival in the Lumding town of the state. The tournament has attracted a large number of players and teams.
Pranabananda Bidya Mandir in Lumding and Lumding Press Club have organised this inter-high school football tournament. The matches will be organised over a five-day duration in the Lumding Railway Vivekananda Playground.
The principal of the Pranabananda Vidya Mandir, Sekhar Chakroborty mentioned that they have organised this sports tournament to inculcate the love for sports among the students of the region and that they have received a very good response. The representatives of the Lumding Press Club mentioned that they aim to spread awareness through this event. It can be noted that 9 schools from the region have participated in this tournament.
Lumding MLA Shibu Mishra attended the first day of the tournament along with the organisers, the heads or their representatives of all the participating schools along with a large number of students and teachers.
