Assam: Interactive session on Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights held at Dikhowmukh College

Dikhowmukh College, recently organized an insightful online session on Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights in collaboration with Sibsagar Commerce College, Nazira College and others.

GAURISAGAR: Dikhowmukh College, one of the higher educational institutes in greater Dikhowmukh and Gaurisagar area in Sivasagar district, recently organized an insightful online session on Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in collaboration with Sibsagar Commerce College, Nazira College, Jhanji HNS College, DDR College, Chabua, Sibsagar Girls’ College, JDSG College, Bokakhat, and SPP College Namti. The session was organized with an aim to foster awareness and understanding of the critical relationship between innovation and intellectual property rights. The welcome address was delivered by Dr Ranjit Kumar Boruah, Principal, Dikhowmukh College, while Dr Pranjal Borah, IQAC Coordinator, offered the vote of thanks to all.

Snigdha Bhaswati, Assistant Professor Department of History, Dikhowmukh College, anchored the whole programme which was chaired by Prof Jogen Chandra Kalita, Professor of Zoology and former Dean of the Faculty of Science, Gauhati University. Dr Ranjit Kumar Barman, former Head of the Science & Technology Division and Nodal Scientist of the Patent Information Centre at ASTEC, Government of Assam, took part as resource person. Dr Barman shared his vast knowledge and expertise in the field of science and technology and provided valuable insights on how intellectual property rights play a pivotal role in the development and protection of innovation. The session saw active participation from students and faculty members and principles of all the participating colleges, including Sibsagar Commerce College and Nazira College. The interactive discussions encouraged students to engage with the topic and broaden their understanding of IPR’s significance in today’s world.
