BOKAKHAT: An inaugural event was held today in Kaziranga in the presence of Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary and Agriculture Minister Atul Bora to start the ITEC Executive Course on Ca-pacity Building for Wildlife and Conservation Practitioners. The International Big Cat Alliance, Ministry of External Affairs, GoI, and Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve are organizing the ITEC Executive Course on Capacity Building for Wildlife and Conservation Practitioners from today and will continue until February 16. 44 participants from 27 countries will be attending this course.
Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, during his speech, outlined the unique habitat of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, which is considered one of the best-managed national parks in the country. Minister Patowary appreciated the sincere dedication of the frontline forest staff who have been doing their duties sincerely. He further stated that the ITEC Executive Course will effectively impart valuable knowledge derived from India's successful conservation projects.
Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, in his speech, outlined the important measures that have been taken by the State Government under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for better protection and conservation of wild species, including mammals and avifauna. Bora stated that wildlife conservation has always been an important priority of the State Government. Minister Bora noted that conservation measures in Kaziranga National Park have been a role model for other wildlife-protected forests in the country and the world.
The ITEC Executive course is exclusive to policymakers, senior-level officials, and professionals from around the world. Its objective is to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge in natural heritage management, biodiversity conservation strategies, wildlife management, and the sharing of best practices. It aims to enhance global collaboration in wildlife conservation, focusing on capacity building and best practices for protecting big cats and their habitats.
