BOKAKHAT: Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, a globally renowned tourist destination and wildlife sanctuary, will stop jeep safaris for the season starting from May 19. This decision was officially announced by the park authorities. According to a notification issued by the park authorities, the decision to stop jeep safaris has been taken in light of the deteriorating road conditions due to rainfall, which has made travel within the park increasingly difficult and risky.

The notification states that jeep safaris will be halted in all ranges of the park starting May 19. Notably, the park had already closed the Bagori Range and some other areas for tourist movement earlier in May due to safety concerns. Now, the jeep safaris across all ranges of Kaziranga National Park will remain closed for the rest of the 2024–25 tourist season. Park officials thanked everyone and requested their continued cooperation. They expressed hope that the upcoming season would be as successful as this one. The park administration requested all tour operators and related businesses to consider this closure seriously and cooperate accordingly.
