KARBI ANGLONG: A voluntary blood donation camp was organised by KSA-CEC at its office in Rongnihang on Monday in order to celebrate the Karbi Students' Day cum 66th Foundation Day of the Karbi Students' Association (KSA-Inglongpho).
KSA President Bhudho Terang said that the blood donation camp was organised to celebrate the Karbi Students' Day on July 21, 2025, cum 66th Foundation Day. "Since the association's inception, no such event has been organised, but from this year, we've started this initiative on the occasion of our foundation day and plan to continue it in the coming years," Terang added.
Citing a recent case of a serious patient from Hamren, West Karbi Anglong, who was admitted to Diphu Medical College and Hospital, Terang highlighted that many people approach them for blood donations. He emphasised that donating blood can save lives, especially for poor and needy individuals who struggle to afford it.
Around 30 KSA members have donated their blood. Terang mentioned that they aim to target around 50-60 donors from the coming year, believing that the current effort would greatly assist those in need. Additional Superintendent of Police Konkan Nath, ADC James Diamary, and medical officers from Diphu Medical College and Hospital attended the donation camp.
Earlier, in celebration of senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi’s birthday, a significant event was organised in June at the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) headquarters, Rajiv Bhawan.
