SILCHAR: To ensure a peaceful and distraction-free environment for students during exams, the Cachar District Administration has imposed a ban on the use of high-decibel loudspeakers and microphones across the district. This decision comes ahead of the 2025 Higher Secondary (H.S.) and High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examinations.

The restriction will be in effect from February 13 to March 17, 2025, for the H.S. exams and from February 15 to March 3, 2025, for the HSLC exams. The order prohibits the use of loudspeakers or microphones that emit high-decibel sounds for any purpose during these periods. The aim is to provide a quiet environment for students, helping them focus on their studies and perform their best during exams.

The move has been welcomed by parents, teachers, and students, who appreciate the administration's efforts to support academic success. However, the order allows exceptions in certain cases.

Individuals or organizations requiring loudspeakers for specific purposes can apply for special permission from the District Administration. Such requests will be carefully considered to ensure they do not disturb the exam environment.

The ban is effective immediately and will remain in force until further notice. The administration has urged the public to cooperate and contribute to a peaceful atmosphere for students during this crucial examination period. Those who violate the order will face strict action, as the authorities remain committed to protecting the sanctity of the exam period.
