Assam: Major Drug Bust in South Salmara, Heroin and Yaba Tablets Seized

The operation resulted in the arrest of an individual who was found in possession of 2.33 grams of heroin, 1,400 Yaba tablets, and various drug peddling materials.

GUWAHATI: An anti-narcotics raid was conducted in Kanaimara Part-1 in Assam by a team led by Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) along with KBD OP staff.

The operation resulted in the arrest of an individual who was found in possession of a significant amount of illegal drugs. Authorities seized 2.33 grams of heroin, 1,400 Yaba tablets, and various drug peddling materials.

The raid is part of the ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse in the region. The arrested individual is currently under investigation, and legal action has been initiated according to the provisions of the law.

Meanwhile, in a joint operation by the Basistha Police Station and Special Task Force (STF) of East Guwahati Police District, three drug peddlers were arrested from Khanapara and Rukmininagar on the basis of intelligence inputs.

The arrested individuals, identified as Khirud Doley (25), Rituraj Patir (23), and Deka Bhaskar Pegu (28), were found in possession of 72 vials of heroin, 31 empty vials, Rs. 13,840 in cash, 2 mobile phones, and a scooty (AS01ET1156). Legal action has been initiated against them.

In a separate operation, the Jorabat OP team apprehended two drug peddlers, Libion Boro (18) and Julius Majaw (23), at Jorabat Crossing. The authorities seized 17 vials of heroin (22.7 grams) and 2 mobile phones from them.
