DIPHU: In a fatal incident, a man tragically lost his life after getting trampled by an elephant at Chicharlangso, near Rongkimi area in Assam's Karbi Anglong on 7th December at around 1:00 pm.
The deceased person has been identified as 28-year-old Albanu Teron, son of Peter Teron. This incident came to light after it caught the attention of the local villagers, who immediately informed the forest officials about this incident.
A joint team of Environment & Forest Department and the police arrived at the scene to take stock of the situation. Efforts are underway to send the tuskers back into the forest to avoid such untoward incident.
Meanwhile, in a similar incident, a tragic incident occurred in Rani, near Guwahati, when a wild elephant attacked and killed a 45-year-old man, Prafulla Rabha, on Sunday.
The victim, a resident of Belguri village in Rani, was on his way to the paddy fields with his son Bhabesh Rabha when the elephant emerged from the Meghalaya hills and trampled them.
Bhabesh Rabha barely survived the attack and was rushed to Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) along with his father. Unfortunately, Prafulla Rabha was declared dead by the doctors.
