Assam: Meet on child marriage and road safety held in Morigaon

Morigaon Police, VDP & locals held a meet at Bishnu Rava High School to raise awareness on child marriage, road safety, tobacco use & cleanliness.

MORIGAON: To raise awareness about child marriage, road safety, tobacco consumption, and cleanliness, a meeting was organized on Saturday at Bishnu Rava High School by the Citizens’ Committee of Morigaon Police Station, the police administration of Morigaon PS, and the Village Defence Party (VDP), in collaboration with the residents of Manipur Gaon Panchayat.

Despite incessant rainfall, nearly 200 participants—including students and teachers of the school, parents, and members of the VDP—attended the programme.

An awareness meeting was held in conjunction with the programme, presided over by Sanjib Kr. Bora, President of the Citizens’ Committee of Morigaon PS. Among the dignitaries present were Paragjyoti Mahanta, general secretary of the Assam College Teachers’ Association and a lecturer at Morigaon College; Bhaskar Barman, Officer-in-Charge of Morigaon PS; Bishnujyoti Bhagawati, District Associate of the VDP; Bubul Bordoloi, a local village leader; Diganta Kalita, Circle Organizer of the VDP; and Bhaskar Barua, secretary.
