GUWAHATI: Assam's Cabinet Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture and Food Processing, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, UDD and Town & Country Planning, Atul Bora, addressed the International Conclave cum Buyer-Seller Meet, organized by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), through a virtual platform from Bokakhat.
Highlighting the immense potential of Assam’s agriculture and horticulture sectors, Bora emphasized the growing interest of the younger generation in agriculture, which he believes has ushered in a new era for the state’s agricultural exports.
Bora encouraged APEDA and other important groups to take action by offering training, raising awareness, and promoting ways to help farmers start exporting agricultural products. He said that these efforts would help Assam’s farm products reach global markets and create new income opportunities for farmers.
Atul Bora hoped that the event would help fulfill Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s vision of making the state a top global exporter of agricultural and organic products. Bora also thanked APEDA for organizing the event in Guwahati.
He stated on X, “I am hopeful that today’s event will play a pivotal role in realizing the vision of Hon'ble CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma to position Assam as a leading global exporter of agricultural and organic products. I extend my sincere gratitude to APEDA for organizing this event in Guwahati."
The event was attended by several important people, including Bimal Borah, Minister of Industry and Commerce; Vinita Sudhanshu, Director-General of APEDA; Aruna Rajouria, Agriculture Production Commissioner of the Assam Government; Virendra Mittal, Project Director of the ARIAS Society; and other key stakeholders.
