Assam: More than 20 Injured in Road Accident at Lampara Village; 15 Referred to GMCH for Treatment

More than twenty people from Garo community were injured in a road accident at Lampara village near Hahim under Boko Police Station on Friday evening.

Boko: More than twenty people from Garo community were injured in a road accident at Lampara village near Hahim under Boko Police Station on Friday evening. Out of the twenty men and women, 15 people were immediately referred to the GMCH for better treatment. According to the locals, more than twenty people including men and women from Santipur village under Chaygaon Constituency came to Bakrapara village near Hahim to attend a funeral programme. After the programme, the group returned to their village with a Tata Ace Gold luggage carrier (AS 01 QC 3106) vehicle, however due to the over speeding, the vehicle lost control and rolled over and fell into the roadside paddyfield at Lampara village. Hahim Police Outpost in-charge Lakhi Nandan Boro immediately reached the spot and with the help of ambulances sent all injured persons to the Boko Primary Hospital.

Meanwhile, Boko PS in-Charge Rajib Nath and a police team reached the spot and controlled the situation. More than six ambulances transported injured people to medical facilities, out of 108 ambulance services. Police launched an investigation into the incident and seized the vehicle and took it to the Hahim Police outpost.
