GUWAHATI: Amid the high-profile death case of SI Junmoni Rabha, SP of Lakhimpur, Bedanta Madhab Rajkhowa, and Nagaon SP Leena Doley were transferred. On the other hand, the four officials, Rupjyoti Kalita, Additional SP (Crime), Nagaon, Inspector Manoj Rajbongshi, OC Nagaon, Sadar PS, Inspector Bhaskar Kalita, OC North Lakhimpur PS, and Sanjib Bora, IC Naoboisha outpost, have been closed to Assam Police Headquarters with immediate effect, according to an order issued by Special Director General of Police (HQ) Harmeet Singh.
Moreover,148 police personnel from the Nagaon Police Force in Assam were transferred. The transfer order was issued by the Superintendent of Nagaon Police and is effective immediately.
According to an official notification, “In the interest of public service and as per the decision of district level board for transfer and posting and in the exercise of powers conferred under section 46 of Assam Police Act 2007, the following HC-WUBC of this DEF is transferred and posted as shown against each of their names with immediate effect."
In a news conference, Assam Director General of Police (DGP) Gyanendra Pratap Singh announced their transfers. Junmoni Rabha, an Assam Police Sub-Inspector (SI) entangled in several scandals, died in a traffic accident on May 16 in Kaliabor, Nagaon district.
The mishap occurred when Rabha's vehicle collided with an incoming container truck with the registration number 'UP 78UT 4518' near Sarubhagia hamlet on National Highway 37.
Meanwhile, Sumitra Rabha, the mother of deceased Sub-inspector (SI) Junmoni Rabha, has filed an FIR at the Jakhalabandha Police Station in Assam's Nagaon district, requesting a thorough investigation into her daughter's murder.
Sumitra Rabha has sought a thorough investigation of the entire affair, as well as the punishment of all those involved. She recounted the full scenario that occurred on the night in question.
However, Junmoni Rabha's post-mortem report has arrived, revealing shocking details about the incident that cost her life in the early hours of May 16.
Junmoni Rabha suffered injuries to the back of her head, according to post-mortem investigations. According to the post-mortem reports, the entire incident could have been planned.
