Assam: NAKSHA Land Survey Initiative Launched in Mangaldai to Modernize Urban Land Records

MANGALDAI: The National Geospatial Knowledge-Based Land Survey of Urban Habitations (NAKSHA) was officially launched in Mangaldai by MLA Basanta Das, alongside DC of Darrang district Parag Kumar Kakaty, Vice Chairperson of Assam State Commission for Women Nilima Devi, Chairperson of Mangaldai Municipal Board Nirmali Devi Sarmah and senior officials of the District Administration.

This initiative, led by the Department of Land Resources, aims to modernize urban land and property tax records.

By using advanced technology for mapping and data interpretation, NAKSHA seeks to enhance urban land planning, ensure accurate land records, and resolve long-standing ownership disputes.

The program is expected to streamline property management, making land-related information more accessible and reliable for better governance and development in urban areas.

Meanwhile, Darrang District Commissioner Parag Kumar Kakati visited the FRK Rice Mill project in Rohinikash, Dalgaon, to evaluate its operations and potential growth. He was accompanied by Additional District Commissioner Manash Kumar Saikia. The rice mill is a key unit under the Industry Department.

Meanwhile, Nalbari DC Varnali Deka visited PM Shri Ghograpar Secondary School as an external evaluator for Gunotsav. She interacted with students, assessed their learning progress, and discussed teaching methods with educators to identify challenges and areas for improvement.

Gunotsav, an Assam government initiative, focuses on enhancing education quality in government schools. As part of the program, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu visited two schools in Guwahati on January 21.

He highlighted that the second phase of evaluation engaged over 6,200 external evaluators to assess 14 lakh students across more than 15,000 schools, ensuring an unbiased review to improve student learning and teaching effectiveness.
