Morigaon: With an aim to promote and gain ground of Nath- Jugi literature, a two day long programme ‘Nath-Jugi Sahitya Sanmilan-2024 ‘ got underway at Morigaon Bihutoli ground on Friday. The Nath- Jugi Sahitya Sanmilan began amidst enthusiasm with hoisting of the organization’s flag by the president of the district committee Lakhyajyoti Nath.
Thereafter, the flag of the Sahitya Sanskriti was hosted by the vice president Balen Ch. Barua. It was followed a smriti tarpan by the president of the reception committee Basanta Kr. Nath and the educationist Punaram Nath lit the ceremonial lamp in the programme.
A health mela in conjunction with the programme was held which was opened by the Jt. Director of Health , Morigaon Dr. Arun Kr. Nath. Besides the door of the food hall was inaugurated by the professor of Mayong College (English) Samir Kr Nath and Minalini Devi. A poem recitation programme was also held which was formally inaugurated by Dr. Jayanta Kr. Nath and it was conducted by Dr. Utpal Nath, Associate Professor, Mayang College. The main stage of the poetry reading was inaugurated by the Principal of Charaibahi Sankardev Vidya Niketan Bhagyaram Nath. The programme was inaugurated by District Fisheries Officer Bhaskarjyoti Nath.
On the other hand District Cultural Officer Angshuman Dutta inaugurated the programme of traditional folk song and folk dance of Nath Jugi performed by the artists of Darang and Kokrajhar. The two day long programme will conclude on Saturday with staging various events.
