Assam: NF Railway Mazdoor Union distributes Flood Relief in Sivasagar

The NF Railway Mazdoor Union (NFRMU) distributed flood relief to affected families in Nimajan, Simaluguri, and Tengapukhuri of Sivasagar district through the joint efforts of its Maligaon, Pandu, Construction branches and all Rangiya Division branches.

BONGAIGAON: The NF Railway Mazdoor Union (NFRMU) distributed flood relief to affected families in Nimajan, Simaluguri, and Tengapukhuri of Sivasagar district through the joint efforts of its Maligaon, Pandu, Construction branches and all Rangiya Division branches. Relief included Rs 2,000 cash, clothes, dhotis, sanitary pads, bleaching powder, biscuits, children's clothing, and other essential items. The programme was attended by Uttam Kumar Bhattacharya, Samrat Mitra, Priyalata Sonowal, Dhiraj Choudhury, and Asim Deka, along with over 100 volunteers.

The team also visited the Simaluguri Railway Colony, assured residents of raising their issues with the NF Railway administration, and handed over Rs 20,000 and relief materials to the Simaluguri branch. The union demanded that the Centre declare the Assam floods a national disaster, provide a special relief package, rehabilitation assistance, long-term flood control measures, and contribute one day's salary of Central Government employees towards flood relief.
