Assam: Observers review poll arrangements in Darrang district

Senior bureaucrat of state government Kalpana Deka, Observer for Panchayat polls under Mangaldai LAC, in a bid to conduct free and fair polls in the area, took stock of the poll arrangement.

MANGALDAI: Senior bureaucrat of state government Kalpana Deka, Observer for Panchayat polls under Mangaldai LAC, in a bid to conduct free and fair polls in the area, took stock of the poll arrangement. Since her arrival on Friday, she supervised the nominations scrutiny process and reviewed the overall election process with Darrang District Commissioner Parag Kr Kakaty and other senior officials of district administration here at the DC office. She met the poll officials at the two Development Block Offices under the LAC and held discussions with them. She also visited a training session of the presiding and polling officials, held here at the Mangaldai Commerce College.

Similarly, Observer for Sipajhar co-district Oswin Nampui visited several polling stations, strong rooms, Sipajhar co-district office and held meetings with the sector-level and other senior polling officials, asking them to ensure free and fair polls in the Sipajhar LAC segment of the district.

Bhaskar Jyoti Manta, Observer for Dalgaon co-district, also held several election meetings with the polling officials at the co-district office and the two respective Block Development Offices under Dalgaon LAC.
