TINSUKIA: In view of the forthcoming Panchayat election in Assam, the District Magistrate of Tinsukia has declared Dry Day in Tinsukia district from 4.30 PM of April 30 to 4.30 PM of May 2, including the day of counting of votes which is fixed on May 11 and the day of re-poll, May 4, if any. During the prohibitory period, all Government licensed IMFL retail off/on shops, Hotel on, Club on, Country Spirit retail shops, Wholesale Warehouses, Country Spirit Wholesale Warehouse of Tinsukia district will remain closed. Any violation of the order shall be dealt with under relevant provisions of Assam Excise Act and Rules, stated the order.
