NAGAON: Pioneer Arts College, a premier private educational institution in Nagaon, organized a week-long drama workshop as part of its curriculum. The workshop, which concluded today, was attended by graduate students and first-year higher secondary students of the college.
Noted theater artiste Susmita Saikia, trained at the National School of Drama (Sikkim), provided training on drama and acting and offered constructive advice to all participants.
The valedictory function was presided over by college Principal Kamakhya Prasad Choudhury. Trained students showcased their talents in group and solo performances, demonstrating their mastery of drama and acting skills.
According to Uma Ram Das, Senior Lecturer of the Assamese department and workshop director, a full-fledged drama performance by the trained students, under Susmita Saikia’s guidance, has been planned for the coming days. The valedictory function also included an award distribution ceremony, where students who excelled in the quiz competition on “Assamese Language: Past, Present, and Future” during the Classical Assamese Language Pride Week were felicitated.
The event was attended by college Vice-Principal Prashanta Kumar Bora, owner Taasmeema Haque, and faculty members.
