TINSUKIA: PM Shri Tinsukia Kendriya Vidyalaya celebrated its 62nd foundation day on Saturday. Kendriya Vidyalaya, one of the leading centrally administered educational institutions in India, was established on December 15, 1962 for the improvement of education in India.

The foundation day programme, that began with a chorus, was graced by Maya Devi, the Commandant of 68 CRPF Battalion, as chief guest. In her motivational speech, she laid the significance of inclusive education as a part of holistic development of children.

The event was conducted by Tinsukia Kendriya Vidyalaya teacher Kenli Namdir while the ceremonial lamp was lit by Tinsukia Branch Commissioner NG Surajbala Devi. Principal Dilip Singh Bhati gave the welcome speech while journalist Kajal Choudhury also addressed the gathering.

The ceremony saw active participation from students, parents, and members of the Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC) in front of whom certificates were awarded to Cubs for completing the third-stage testing camp under the Bharat Scouts and Guides programme.
