Assam Police Arrest Bike Thief In Barpeta Road, Recover Stolen Motorcycles

Raju Kar confessed to the thefts and led the police to the spot where the stolen motorcycles had been dumped in the Bhulukadoba jungle.

BARPETA: A police squad in Assam's Barpeta Road successfully apprehended a suspected motorbike thief, Raju Kar, following information about his activities. The operation led to two stolen motorbikes recovered and other tools utilized in the thefts.

Acting on a confidential tip, police officials arrested Kar, a Bongaigaon Railway Colony resident, late at night in the Barpeta Road market area. Police investigations found that he had stolen two motorcycles from Raju Path in Barpeta Road and hid them in the Bhulukadoba jungle, which is thick and dense, Sarbhog.

While being interrogated, Raju Kar confessed to the thefts and led the police to the spot where the stolen motorcycles had been dumped in the Bhulukadoba jungle. The two recovered vehicles were a Hero Splendor (reg. no. AS 25 K 7273) and a Hero Glamour (reg. no. AS 15 Q 9923).

Authorities mentioned that Raju Kar has a long criminal record of 20 years, with several thefts registered from different regions. He had already undergone imprisonment for the same type of crimes and was released just a few months ago before he resumed his criminal activities again.

Along with the stolen motorbikes, police also confiscated a master key for theft and a copy of the religious book, the Gita, from the suspect. Raju was living as a tenant in Kalahbhanga, Barpeta Road, while carrying out thefts across the locality. The investigation is continuing to reveal any other criminal activities associated with him.
