KOKRAJHAR: A Kokrajhar police team on Tuesday intensified operations in hotels of Kokrajhar, Joypur, and Fakiragram against the selling of beef and seized stored raw beef. The operation was conducted after reports of some hotels serving beef emerged.
Talking to reporters, a police officer said that they carried out operations against the serving of beef to the customers in some hotels run by some Muslims in Kokrajhar town, Joypur Haat, and Fakiragram markets. He said that action would be taken against the hotel owners as per law as the selling of beef is banned in the state. He also said that there were three-four hotels in Kokrajhar town adjacent to the Kokrajhar mosque where beef was served. He further said that they raided the Hotel Muslim at Kokrajhar situated at the main market and seized the raw beef.
