They were looking for Rafiq Ali, a notorious rhino poacher, who was suspected of hiding firearms in his paddy field.

Meanwhile, Dibrugarh Police have arrested Ranjit Nayak, aka Babu, for multiple house burglaries in Milan Nagar over the past two months. Nayak, who has a history of burglary cases, was caught and questioned by the Milan Nagar Outpost Police. During the interrogation, he admitted to the crimes and named Bishnu Karmakar as his partner-in crime.

Following Nayak's statement, the police searched and found several stolen items. These included gold earrings, brass utensils, a mobile phone, and the clothes used during the thefts. They also seized a steel knife and a 2,000 Vietnamese currency note from the accused.

The burglaries were carried out by breaking window grills to enter houses, mainly to steal gold ornaments and cash. CCTV footage helped identify Nayak as the main suspect. Both Nayak and Karmakar have been taken to the Dibrugarh Court and are now in police custody while the investigation continues.
