KOKRAJHAR: A comprehensive pulse polio immunization drive commenced today in Kokrajhar, targeting children below five years across the district. Polio drops were administered through dedicated booths, door-to-door teams, mobile units, and transit teams to ensure no child is left unvaccinated.
The campaign in Kokrajhar was officially inaugurated by Kokrajhar DC Masanda M. Pertin at RN Brahma Civil Hospital, who emphasized the critical role of vaccination in eradicating polio. The DC was joined by Kabita Deka, ADC, Kokrajhar; Dr. D. Bhowal, District Immunization Officer; and other officials in leading the effort.
In order to raise awareness regarding the importance of polio vaccination to protect children from this highly contagious viral infection, the Sub-National Immunization Day (SNID) Polio Campaign is being observed across the country from 8 to 10 December, 2024. This initiative urges parents and guardians to actively participate in the campaign by bringing their children to the nearest immunization booth or ensuring they receive the vaccine from visiting teams in order to ensure complete immunization and safeguard young children against the threat of polio in the region.
