Chirang: Senior BPF leader Kampa Borgoyari has officially joined the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL). He, along with his supporters, made the switch during a grand joining ceremony at Rhino Sporting Club & Library Playground in Thaikhajhora in Chirang district.

UPPL President and BTR Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro warmly welcomed Borgoyari with a traditional Aronai and bouquet in the presence of a large gathering.

The event saw thousands of BPF supporters from different levels—block, primary, and booth—placing their trust in UPPL’s vision for a better Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

Pramod Boro expressed his happiness at Borgoyari’s decision and welcomed all new members, emphasizing their collective goal of peace and progress in the region.

In a post on X, CEM Boro said, "UPPL’s strength continues to soar, while BPF’s support fades! Delighted to welcome senior most BPF leader Shri Kampa Borgoyari into the United People’s Party Liberal at the Grand Joining Ceremony in Chirang today."

"With him, thousands of block, primary & booth level BPF supporters have placed their trust in UPPL’s vision, and have joined hands with us to help foster a better BTR. I welcome them all in our collective journey of peace & progress," he added.

At a previous press conference held on February 7, Borgoyari had expressed discontentment with the BPF’s leadership, accusing the party of lacking direction and resisting progressive change. He stated that his decision was made without external pressure, emphasizing that the UPPL’s democratic and developmental approach aligns with his vision for the region.
