JAMUGURIHAT: Sootear Lok-mon, Lok-jiban, a research-based Assamese book authored by Dr Anushree Adhikari, an Assistant Professor of Chatia College, was released at a function held at the conference hall of Sootea Press Club with Karunananda Hatibaruah, a historian in the chair today. Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika graced the book release programme as a chief guest who, in his inaugural address, praised the venture undertaken by the young writer. He also made a humble appeal to the young generation to develop a culture of studying the history of their locality, area, state, and the nation as well instead of spending hours browsing social media.
Dr Parag Jyoti Hazarika, an Assistant Teacher of Gyan Vikash Academy and a research scholar released the anthology. Bhaba Saikia, President of the Sootea Chapter of Senior Citizens’ Forum, graced the event as a guest. The session was addressed by Mayurakhi Mahanta Saikia, Mrinal Goswami, Pankaj Jyoti Bhuyan, Pranab Ojha, and Rina Barua Saikia, among others. All the proceedings of the entire session were conducted by Dr Surajit Saikia. The event was attended by dignitaries, students, members of the press club, besides others.
